Not the right journal entry? go back.

Today, I decided to add a wind effect to Peach Tree Street using a MIDI generated rain stick. After using MIDI to add it in, I panned the rain stick back and forth in the mix to simulate what a breeze would sound like as it blows leaves around before a storm. I thought about adding slay bells, but decided that it would sound too comical even if I added a snare and bass drum to the song. I also added wind chimes at certain points throughout the song. Although they may sound random, and therefore out of place, I hope that when I add heavier percussion to the song they will not sound so weird.

Initially I had hoped to figure out what percussion instruments I would add and what I would have them play. However, I ended up running out of time and so I had to suffice auxiliary percussion instead. I was frustrated by this because I really wanted to find a good drum sample and create some good percussion loops to go along with the song.

I am by no means happy with the piece as it is, but I believe that I am on the right track. Next, I plan on adding more percussion.
